From Badachro Distillery
Nose: A delicious preserve of cooked ripened fig with warmed brown sugar, followed by a conserve of stewed berries.
Palate: Up front a rich yet mellow hit of matured fruit and nutty characteristics leading to a subtle hint of liquorice whilst a sweet spice blend coats the roof.
Finish: Some citrus at first, then tart red fruits followed by an incredibly long sweet, nutty, oily, oaky finish that just keeps going.

57% abv is the traditional ‘navy strength’ benchmark, coming from the days when sailors would test that their rum & gin rations had not been watered-down by pouring some of the ration onto a small pile of gunpowder and lighting it. If the wet gunpowder burned, then the spirit was 57% abv or over, but if it didn’t… then someone had been ‘at it’! And as if by fate, Badachro Distillery is located close to the 57° North line of latitude.
