    This 2011 expression is distilled from barley grown on six western and central Islay farms. The spirit has been matured in a mix of casks – 75% aged in first fill American whiskey casks, 15% aged in second and third fill Sauternes and Austrian sweet wine casks and 10% in first fill Rivesaltes wine casks.

    Created to show the effect that soil, climate, geographic orientation and natural influences can have on the unique flavour of  whisky.  This is a sweet and fruity single malt with tastes of apples, gooseberries, vanilla and citrus.

    From Bruichladdich this heavily peated Port Charlotte is made exclusively from barley grown on the Isle of Islay.  The barley varieties used are Oxbridge and Publican and were grown on three Islay farms – Kilchiaran, Dunlossit and Sunderland.  Aromas of toasted coconut flakes, lemon peel, sweet smoke and apricot, with tastes of white grapes and baked earth, leading to a finish of salted caramel, Nice biscuits and lingering coastal smoke.
