When Tomatin Distillery Was Established In 1897, The Isolated And Idyllic Setting Of Tomatin Was Almost Perfect. However There Wasn’t A Local Workforce; The Local Inhabitants Were Scattered Shepherds And Cattle Drovers. The Company Began A Project Of Construction To Accommodate Its Workforce. Since That Time The Distillery Has Been At The Heart Of The Community And The Community At The Heart Of The Distillery. This Legacy Has Continued And Tomatin Remains One Of The Few Distilleries To Provide A Home For Its Dedicated Craftsmen.

The Tomatin 14 Year Old Is Soft, Smooth And Sweet, Benefiting From Its Time Spent In Tawny Port Casks Which Previously Held Port For Around 50 Years. Rich But Balanced Aromas Of Red Berries, Sweet Honey And Rich Toffee Develop Into Aspects Of Light Fruits And Nuts On The Palate And An Abiding Finish Of Smooth Fruit Salad.
Nose – Quite A Powerful Nose. Big Bunches Of Red Berries And Grapes. Vanilla, Oak And Hints Of White Pepper.
Palate – Dark Chocolate Dipped In Strawberries. Crushed Almonds, Walnuts, Victoria Sponge (With Plenty Of The Prerequisite Jam And Cream In The Middle) And A Centre Of Oak.
Finish – Fruity On The Finish.

The Tomatin 18 Year Old Is A Truly World Class Malt. Matured In Traditional Oak Casks And First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts, Honey And Soft Oak Flavours Develop Into A Hint Of Dark Chocolate With A Citrus Bite Before A Sustained Sweet And Slightly Dry Finish.
Nose – The Nose Is Quite Punchy And Of Good Body. There Are Notes Of Chewy Grape And Sultana With Winter Spice; Cloves And Cinnamon With Hints Of Vanilla Fudge And A Most Supple Of Smokes.
Palate – The Palate Is Quite Sweet And Full. There Are Notes Of Barley Sugar And Honeycomb. Hints Of Chocolate Orange And Cocoa Dusted Liberally On Toasty Oak.
Finish – The Finish Is Long And Powerful With A Dry, Chewy Oak And A Touch Of Pepper.

The first cask strength to become part of Tomatin’s core range. Matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry casks and retaining the rich, sweet undertones of a classic Tomatin. A delicious aroma of crushed walnuts and caramel, Seville orange, black pepper and red berries. Ginger, green apple and a touch of salty sea air on the palate gives way to sweet chocolate and cooking spices. With a finish of vanilla pods and crumbly fudge.

The 10-year-old single malt whisky represents a notable achievement for the distillery, as it is their inaugural permanent age-statement offering. The spirit was matured exclusively in second-fill Oloroso sherry casks, carefully selected by the distillery. The whisky spent a full ten years maturing in Spanish sherry oak, resulting in a pleasantly sweet and luxurious flavour profile. This release serves as a fitting tribute to the mastery, devotion, and patience of Wolfburn’s accomplished master distillers.
NOSE: Soft sherry sweetness melds with figs and raisins. There’s a lovely hint of vanilla and oak present too.
PALATE: The depth of flavour is tremendous. Bold chocolate and dark fruit flavours abound, with overtones of caramel and vanilla, all accompanied by gentle hints of nutmeg and oak smoke.
FINISH: Silky tannins make for a beautifully textured finish; there’s a residual sweetness with dried fruit and caramel flavours lingering to the very end.
