In 2019, Master Distiller James MacTaggart celebrates his 12th anniversary at the Isle of Arran Distillery.
This elegant and luxurious expression of the Arran Malt has been skilfully designed by him using some of the finest Palo Cortado Sherry Casks. These unique casks, give a warm and rich note that beautifully compliments the natural fruitiness of the Arran Malt.
Nose : Bright and mouth-watering; Seville orange marmalade, peaches and mango freshness are followed by the warmth of root ginger and a waft of drying grass and gorse bushes.
Palate : Rich in chocolate orange, quince jelly and the zest of citrus fruits. The subtle tang of yeasty, buttered sourdough and a kick of rock salt come through as the Palo Cortado cask displays its influence.
Finish : Cider apples accentuate Arran house style before the warmth of ginger returns alongside a rich impression of these exceptional sherry casks.

The Bond House No. 1 collection invites single malt whisky connoisseurs to explore some of Glenmorangie’s most prized parcels of aged whisky. The collection takes its name from the largest of Glenmorangie’s traditional 19th century warehouses –Bonded Warehouse No.1 –transformed in 1990 into the Distillery’s current still house.
Aged for 26 years, Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1991 takes its rich plum character from two seemingly incongruous wood-finished whiskies. One sweet, spicy parcel finished in oloroso sherry casks is skilfully married with a bold, earthy parcel finished in burgundy casks. They are softened by a hint of whisky aged in new toasted oak, to create a whisky of implausible harmony.
Nose: Mellow, Deep, Intense and fruity. Lots of apricots, plum and baked apples, with chocolate, gentle oak and a hint of truffles and star anise. A splash of water releases deeper notes, reminiscent of hickory-smoked ham and a damp forest floor.
Taste: A slightly peppery mouthfeel leads to a burst of fruity flavours intermingled with lots of milk chocolate, stewed apples, plum and rip, red fruits such as cherry and raspberry.

The Tomatin Decades II is rich and complex, having been matured in traditional Scotch whisky, ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry and re-charred French oak casks hand selected from various vintages spanning the last fifty years.
Nose: An initial burst of citrus fruits gives way for hints of sweet pastry and wood shavings. Cooked fruits are balanced by softer floral and coconut tones. There is an overall sense of maturity with dried fruits, almonds and exotic spices adding real depth.

Tomatin from the 1970’s is held in exceptionally high regard, prized for its depth and complexity. Matured in refill Hogsheads, this malt has taken on very little oak influence which has allowed the air and liquid in the casks to interact and develop a wide array of tropical fruit flavours.

Tomatin from the 1980’s is sweet and fresh. This malt has been finished for over three years in 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Butts, resulting in a whisky reminiscent of aged Cognac. Tones of aged leather, polished oak and dark roast coffee along with flavours of stone fruit, dark chocolate and tannin add richness.

The use of 1st fill Bourbon Barrels has developed a malt with characteristics of golden syrup, freshly baked pastries with subtle spices and add a layer of warmth. Although well into its twenties, Tomatin from the 1990’s is bold which helps impart long length to the overall finish.
2000s RECHARRED VERDEJO WINE BARRELS DISTILLED ON 28/01/2000 AND 05/06/2009
From 2000 onwards Tomatin began to experiment with a wider variety of casks. The malt used from the 2000’s has been matured in Verdejo Wine casks which have been re-charred to harness the full influence of the French oak. This adds sweetness as well as some spicier notes.
2010s SECOND FILL FRENCH OAK BARRELS DISTILLED ON 14/03/2013
Young Tomatin in second fill casks allows the distillery character to shine through. Fresh green fruits and malty characteristics are to the fore with subtle spice and toffee from the light French oak influence. This is a vivacious malt which adds lighter tones but is kept in balance with the older casks.£110.00
