After initial use, this spirit is often sold on or even disposed of. An undiscovered treasure which has now been repurposed to form the base of Discarded’s next fruity-forward spirit. The additional flavour profile comes from an unlikely source, banana peel. As an extract, banana peel provides a fresh toffee note with a fruity balance that perfectly complements the complexity of the base rum. Aged-rum base is blended together with Discarded’s banana peel extract to produce the award-winning Discarded Banana Peel Rum. Aromas of warm banana bread and treacle, with notes of dried fruit, toasted cinnamon and rich butterscotch. Rich flavours of banoffee pie and sticky toffee pudding, with deep fruity flavours of milk chocolate raisins and a crystallized ginger finish.
