Dorchadas Washed Ashore Single Cask Edition presents an exceptional agricole-style rum, fermented from sugar cane juice to achieve its distinctive fruity yet funky character. Initially matured in French virgin oak under Mauritius’ tropical climate, it developed intense notes of ripe fruit and wood oils – evoking “wine gums for adults” – with a rich, lingering complexity. After its voyage, the rum was finished in ex-bourbon casks in the UK’s cooler climate, smoothing and mellowing the spirit into a perfectly balanced dram. Bottled at 52.7% ABV (70cl), this single cask expression offers a rare depth of flavour.
