    Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair 70cl

Stiùireadair (pronounced ‘stew-rahdur’) and meaning Helmsman in Scots Gaelic, is the first Bunnahabhain Limited Edition to pay homage to the Bunnahabhain Helmsman, who adorns every bottle. But the Helmsman is no mere icon, he is a reminder of Bunnahabhin’s origins, and links to the past, and a symbol of the enduring appreciation of the sea by which Islay is surrounded.  To create Stiùireadair, Bunnahabhain’s  Senior Blender selected first and second fill sherry casks with spirit of varying ages and warehouse locations to construct a dram that truly exposes the coastal nature of the Bunnahabhain single malt whisky, whilst not losing the sherry influence everyone knows and loves in the famous 12 year old.

Nose – Concentrated fruit syrup made with raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. More than a hint of chocolate.

Palate – Not as sweet as the nose suggests, but still plentifully so. Much more definitively raspberry in flavour but these are stewed raspberries, not fresh. Hints of chlorate, honey, and other stone fruits add a decent level of complexity to proceedings. Vanilla subtly permeates throughout and balances well with the ‘bucket loads’ of fruit flavours. Smooth and silky but particularly benefitting of an ice cube to cut through the sweetness and reveal some delicate citrus notes.

Devil’s Point Golden Aged Rum 70cl

The Devil’s Point is a mountain in the Cairngorms National Park. The Gaelic name means ‘Penis of the Demon’. The English name is a result of a visit to the area by Queen Victoria who asked her local ghillie, John Brown, to translate the name to avoid embarrassment he called it The Devil’s Point.

    Cask No: 001

Devil’s Point Golden Aged Rum is a blend of a couple of favourite casks of creator Liam Pennycook. They took one of the first rums and one of the most recent rums they’ve filled, married them up and blended them.

Voted Gin of The Year at the Scottish Gin Award

Eden Mill’s award-winning Original Gin, also known as Eden Gin, is the St Andrews take on a classic London Dry. This gin was voted Scotland’s Number One Gin at the 2018 Scottish Gin Awards, where 116 gins were blind tasted!

Made from Fife’s seabuckthorn berries, a super food that grows within walking distance of the St Andrews distillery. The unique tart berry flavour is abundant but they balance the gin around it using citrus elements drawn from the other botanicals (like lemon balm and citrus peel). This gin is on a quite different level to most.

    Tasting Notes

Nose: Strong citrus nose of lemon balm, bitter orange and hints of light grapefruit.

Palate: Delicate spice of coriander and clove through the midpoint. A sweetness of lychee, rambutan and pear under more sweetness in an orange finish.

Finish: Well rounded and smooth with no burn. A classic, clean and refreshing gin.

    Glayva 70cl

Glayva is made from a blend of aged scotch whiskies, a selected range of spices, Mediterranean tangerines, cinnamon, almonds and honey. It has a deep golden colour and a distinctive flavour.  Glayva was first produced in 1947 created by wine and whisky merchant Ronald Morrison who wanted to create a liqueur that would warm and comfort his customers. Being based in the busy port of Leith, Morrison had access to exotic ingredients from all over the world, such as tangerines, honey and spices which he mixed with Scotch malt whisky. Upon tasting the liquid for the first time, Hector, the warehouseman declared that it was ‘Glè Mhath” which translated from Gaelic means very good. From that point on the liqueur was named Glayva.

This is a whisky whose original incarnation was so popular that we drank all of it now It’s back with a new recipe thanks to master blender Rachel Barrie, combining both oloroso and PX casks into a rich sherry-monster that’s packed with spice and fruit.

Nose Fruit cake for grown-ups: not too sweet, thanks to softly singed raisins, and solidly soaked in bittersweet dark rum. Baked apples with plump raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon sit to the side, studded with glacée cherries and juicy sultanas.
Palate Rich, thick and packed with juicy-but-dried fruit – rum-soaked raisins, prunes and a touch of chopped date. Nutmeg and cinnamon sit underneath along with sticks of black liquorice. It’s more savoury than the nose suggests, focusing on fruit cake and bitter dark chocolate.
