Blind Summit Mortlach 12 Year Old (50cl, 55.7% ABV) is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from independent bottlers Blind Summit. Distilled at Mortlach Distillery on 28th August 2013 and matured in a first-fill Australian Shiraz cask, this rich Speyside dram offers notes of dark fruit, spice, and subtle oak. Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill filtered, and with no added colour, only 216 bottles were produced, capturing Mortlach’s bold character with a vibrant wine-cask twist.

As the introductory offering in the Mortlach range, it harmoniously marries whisky aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks to create a delicate equilibrium between the distillery’s renowned robust, dried fruit profile and the infusion of fresh fruit and vanilla notes. The outcome is a triumph that seamlessly blends the finest aspects of these two realms, all while showcasing the distinctive and substantial character of Mortlach’s spirit.
NOSE: Nutty fruitcake with juicy sultanas, candied ginger, and bittersweet marmalade, complemented by fruity dark chocolate and baked apples sprinkled with nutmeg.
PALATE: Rich toffee, brown sugar. Soft sultanas and spiced sponge cake. cinnamon and clove, raisin-topped baked apples dusted with caster sugar.
FINISH: Charred raisins and sultanas, sharp apples. Lingering tarte tatin.
