Bladnoch’s ‘The Dragon Series’ introduces its fourth edition, ‘The Ageing,’ delving into the intricate and least understood facet of whisky maturation. This expression is a tribute to the effects of aging, exploring factors like seasonal temperature variations, humidity, warehouse attributes, location, and the intriguing phenomenon of the ‘angel’s share’ evaporation. To accentuate these effects, the casks for this release are carefully chosen from the darkest and coldest corners of Bladnoch’s warehouses. Bottled at a robust 51.1% ABV, it matures in red wine hogsheads and first-fill Bourbon casks.
