Product Information
Scarabus, a single malt from Hunter Laing, originates from an undisclosed Islay distillery and was launched for Fèis Ìle 2019. The name Scarabus, meaning ‘rocky place’ in Old Norse, is inspired by a mystical area of Islay. This expression carries an air of mystery, from its secretive distillery source to the golden symbols adorning the bottle, making it a visually striking and flavorful Islay whisky.
Nose: Classic maritime peat smoke, sea spray, sea salt, with hints of vanilla and oak spice.
Palate: Oak char, old leather, stewed orchard fruit, and returning vanilla sweetness among smoky peat.
Finish: Lingering bonfire smoke, salted caramel, and fresh berries.
