Product Information
Tamdhu, when matured in American oak, boasts a distinct profile that sets it apart from its European oak counterparts. The Quercus Alba, with its tight grain ideal for crafting quality casks, undergoes a transformation as the oloroso sherry imparts its influence on the toasted oak. This seasoned cask then embarks on a long journey to Tamdhu, where it is filled with their new-make spirit. As time elapses, the marriage of casks and spirit results in the development of vanilla and rich fruit flavors, accompanied by a naturally alluring amber hue.
Nose: Indulge in the aroma of shortbread immersed in vanilla cream, followed by oak, citrus, and a hint of peppermint.
Palate: A luxurious, soft oak envelops the palate, paving the way for the emergence of plums and chocolate limes.
Finish: The enduring presence of sherried oak gracefully yields to notes of dried cherries and honeycomb, leaving an unforgettable impression.

Nose – Very sweet on the nose. Initially it is all creme caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, wood sugar, toffee and fudge before some apple and peach come through. In time a charred note of bourbon with a pleasing dusty dryness.
Palate – A sweet start on the palate. The alcohol gives a little tongue-tingling buzz the result is a good mid-palate weight. The dry distillery character is there still, but there is now depth to counter. Water slightly dismantles the different elements, but adds some dried mint.
Finish – A deep and dark finish.
