A beautifully balanced single malt Scotch whisky which skilfully blends the purity of an unpeated Highland whisky with the complexity and sweetness of fruity, first fill ruby port casks.
Nose: A delicious preserve of cooked ripened fig with warmed brown sugar, followed by a conserve of stewed berries.
Palate: Up front a rich yet mellow hit of matured fruit and nutty characteristics leading to a subtle hint of liquorice whilst a sweet spice blend coats the roof.
Finish: Some citrus at first, then tart red fruits followed by an incredibly long sweet, nutty, oily, oaky finish that just keeps going.

Bad na h-Achlaise Ruby Port Cask is a beautifully balanced single malt Scotch whisky, expertly marrying the purity of unpeated Highland spirit with the rich complexity of first fill ruby port casks. The nose opens with notes of ripened fig preserve and warm brown sugar, followed by stewed berries. On the palate, expect a rich yet mellow medley of matured fruit and nutty tones, layered with subtle liquorice and a sweet spice blend. A touch of citrus leads into tart red fruits, finishing with an exceptionally long, sweet, nutty, and oaky finish. Bottled at 70cl, this dram is utterly delicious, perhaps their best yet.

57% abv is the traditional ‘navy strength’ benchmark, coming from the days when sailors would test that their rum & gin rations had not been watered-down by pouring some of the ration onto a small pile of gunpowder and lighting it. If the wet gunpowder burned, then the spirit was 57% abv or over, but if it didn’t… then someone had been ‘at it’! And as if by fate, Badachro Distillery is located close to the 57° North line of latitude.
