From Lindores Abbey Distillery, Friar John Cor – Chapter III is the third release in the acclaimed Congregation Series, paying tribute to the historic 1494 distillation by Friar John Cor. This bold, limited-edition single malt is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon barrels, Amontillado, and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, then married back into sherry casks for enhanced richness and balance. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 60.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, it delivers deep mahogany hues and layered notes of treacle, dried fruits, spice, dark chocolate, and sweet cinnamon.

Nose: Pleasant mellow fruity apples, ripe banana, sweet pears and vanilla, buttercream and caramel notes with subtle citrus touches
Palate: Fruity green apples, citrus lemon, banana, oaky woody notes, coffee beans and spicy peppery touches. Pleasant silky texture
Finish: Medium length finish

After a break of over 500 years, spirit is once again flowing from the copper stills at Lindores Abbey. As the officially recognised site of the first recorded distillation of Scotch Whisky back in 1494; this distillery certainly has some history. This bottling is a mixture of liquid that was matured in a selection of Bourbon Barrels, Wine Barriques and Sherry Butts. Distilled from Kingdon Of Fife Barley.
