From Ardgowan Distillery, The Inverdarach “Ardgowan Open Day 2024” bottling marks Ardgowan Distillery’s commitment to making its exceptional whiskies more accessible, even for limited releases. This 10-year-old 2013 vintage from Macduff was selected by whisky maker Max McFarlane, who married four first-fill sherry hogsheads to create a richly sherried whisky that still highlights the distillery’s character. With an outturn of 1,366 bottles, it offers notes of black cherries, heather honey, and hazelnuts on the nose, followed by dark chocolate, oat biscuits, and old bookshelves on the palate, and finishes with lingering sweet tea and cigar smoke.

The Single Malts of Scotland Macduff 2014 is a Highland single malt distilled in 2014 and bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of their Small Batch range. Crafted from just three bourbon barrels, this limited release is bottled at 48% ABV in 70cl, non-chill filtered and natural in colour. It showcases the distillery’s bright Highland character, with bourbon maturation adding layers of vanilla, soft spice and orchard fruit depth.
