Tomintoul presents a unique small batch bottling, meticulously handpicked from whiskies matured in premium ex-bourbon American oak barrels. These selected whiskies are then blended and refined in carefully chosen Tawny Port barriques from Portugal, employing a meticulous ‘finishing’ technique that results in a single malt Scotch whisky of exceptional richness, depth, and complexity. The tasting experience, as noted by Tomintoul, reveals an indulgent nose of berry fruits, bramble jam, and dark chocolate with nutmeg and cherry liqueur accents, while the palate delights in a fusion of blackcurrants, blueberries, Black Forest gateau, cozy oak spices, and mocha coffee. The finish is a symphony of Maraschino cherries, thick-cut marmalade, and a lingering clove and cinnamon embrace.
