Fettercairn 16 Year Old is a golden bronze whisky from a distillery established in the Cairngorm Mountains in 1824. Renowned for its innovative copper cooling ring and use of locally sourced ingredients, it is fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels, offering a tropical house style with notes of grilled pineapple, Madagascan vanilla, passion fruit, and mango, finishing with mandarin citrus, poached pears, and ginger cake. At 46.4% ABV, it is non-chill filtered with natural colour.

The 2023 release of Fettercairn’s 18-year-old whisky marks a remarkable chapter in its aging journey. Initially, it was matured in carefully selected first-fill and refill ex-bourbon American white oak casks, before receiving a finishing touch in responsibly sourced 100% Scottish oak casks, all of which were meticulously handpicked. In terms of its official tasting notes, it boasts a golden amber hue and presents a palate adorned with sugared almonds, baking spices, and the vibrant essence of passion fruit and guava tropical fruits. The finish is an enchanting blend of exotic syruped fruits, patisserie sugars, brioche, and spices, with gentle hints of berry fruits leading to a cacao-infused and naturally vanilla-laden conclusion. This Fettercairn 18 Year Old 2023 Edition is an official release hailing from the Highland region of Scotland.

Distilled 8th May 1973 and aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Tawny Port pipes
COLOUR: Rays of amber gold and cherry wood.
TASTE: Over-ripe bananas, toasted bread, citrus fruit and plum, giving way to raisin, bitter chocolate, fig and spice.
FINISH: Spiced pear, coffee, caramelised orange and liquorice. Followed by black cherries and treacle with a finish of plum, Demerara sugar and chocolate.
