This special edition 70cl Scuttled Gin from Deerness Distillery on Orkney, has been created to mark the centenary of the scuttling of the WWI German High Seas Fleet in Scapa Flow on 21st June 1919.
Tasting notes
Scuttled Gin is Juniper led, followed by a spicy lemon cassia bark with peppery middle notes and a smooth lavender mint finish to cleanse the palate.
Botanicals
Juniper, tarragon, cassia bark, lemon peel, chamomile flower heads, green pepper, lavender and mint.
Perfect Serve
Straight on the rocks for the gin enthusiast, or a good measure of Scuttled Gin and ice with the following options:

The story behind the rum: Rum is aged in casks to impart flavour into the wood in preparation for the final stages of malt whisky maturation. After initial use, this spirit is often sold on or even disposed of. An undiscovered treasure which has now been repurposed to form the base of Discarded’s next fruity-forward spirit. The additional flavour profile comes from an unlikely source, banana peel. As an extract, banana peel provides a fresh toffee note with a fruity balance that perfectly complements the complexity of the base rum. Aged-rum base is blended together with Discarded’s banana peel extract to produce the award-winning Discarded Banana Peel Rum. Aromas of warm banana bread and treacle, with notes of dried fruit, toasted cinnamon and rich butterscotch.
